Did you know Niagara Falls stopped flowing once?
On March 29th, 1848, the flow of water at Niagara Falls stopped completely for several hours. This is the only know time to have occurred. The Falls did not actually freeze over, but an ice jam in the upper river caused the flow of water to stop. People actually walked out and recovered artifacts from the riverbed!

The Niagara-On-The-Lake Region has to be my greatest vacation destination. Each year that I visit I discover new things that I enjoy.
