Memorial – Dorothy Keintz

Mass of Christian burial for Dorothy Jane Keintz, 79, of Eden, will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday July 15, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eden. The Rev. Jim Freidrich will officiate.

Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery with Mohs Funeral Home in Webster in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service today at the church.

She died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at her residence in Eden.

Dorothy Jane Sass was born Dec. 10, 1922, to Paul and Annastasia (Gollnick) Sass in Webster. She attended Webster Public School, graduating in 1940. She continued her education at Nortre Dame in Mitchell, receiving a teaching certificate in 1941. She returned to the Webster area, where she taught at country schools.

She married Cornelius Keintz on June 12, 1944, in Webster. They made their home in the Eden area where they farmed.

She was a member of Sacred Heart altar society, South Dakota Cancer Society, Marshall County Extension Club, Eden Lion’s Club, a Gold Lifetime Member of the South Dakota Lion’s Association and she was also in the Hectic Homemakers.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, her cat, Radon, and her dog, Smokey.

Survivors include her husband of Eden; three sons, John (Judy) Keintz of Helena, Mont., Ralph (Mary Ellen) Keintz of Eden and Brian (Connie) Keintz of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Marsha (Lee) Miller of Cottonwood, Minn., Marilyn Keintz of Sioux Falls and Sue Keintz of Playa Del Rey, Calif.; two brothers, Raymond Sass of Webster and Richard Sass of Bismarck, N.D.; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Casketbearers will be Corey Keintz, Kelly Keintz, Karl Keintz, John Keintz III, Chris Miller and Andy Miller.
